    Job Title: General Manager (GM)

    Job Purpose

    • To ensure the company is profitable as per the objectives and strategic direction defined by the Board of Directors within two (02) years;
    • To provide leadership to the Management Committee (MANCOM) and to ensure the overall administrative, operational, and financial success of the business;
    • To give strategic guidance and direction to the MANCOM and the Board of Directors to ensure the company achieves its financial vision, mission, and long-term goals.
    • To Ensure a rigorous Implementation of the company Trilogy Business Development Model and robust application of sales discipline across the company's branches.

    Key Responsibilities and Result Areas

    • Responsible for the overall administrative, operational and financial success of the business;
    • Ensure achievement of set revenue, deposit, and loan objectives for the institution;
    • Responsible for attaining or surpassing the financial objectives of the institution;
    • Provide executive leadership to the Management Committee (MANCOM);
    • Establish and ensure the execution of the Strategic Marketing Plan (SMP) of the company to facilitate the attainment of assigned financial objectives;
    • Define and guide the execution of the  Deposit Mobilisation Strategy (DMS) to facilitate a constant growth of the treasury of the institution;
    • Personally participate in the mobilization of huge Low-Cost Deposits or Term/Time Deposits within or below the average market rate;
    • Act as the key negotiator and facilitator at large local companies, multinational companies, parastatal institutions and public companies for the opening of salary accounts and the sale of personal loans;
    • Establish a Strategic Expansion Plan (SEP) for the company and ensure its execution within budget and defined timeframe;
    • Deliver on customer service standards, acquisition and client satisfaction levels, retention of high performing clients and growing share of wallet as per target market;
    • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Chairman and the members of the Board of Directors to keep them aware of development within the industry and ensure that the appropriate policies are developed to meet the company's mission and objectives whiles complying with all relevant statutory and other regulations.
    • Provide leadership in the provision of effective and efficient operations across the company’s network; Prepare an annual business plan and monitor progress against the plan to ensure that the company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible;
    • Oversee the preparation of the Annual Reports and Accounts of the company and ensure their timely submission and approval by the Board;
    • Familiarize  with  the  framework  of  the  regulatory  guidelines  of  the  microfinance  sector  in Cameroon;
    • Coordinate and propose the delivery of technology-based solutions which enable and support all aspects of the company's business plan in a timely and cost-effective manner;
    • Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the products, services and image of the company;
    • Develop a performance-based management culture and assume full responsibility for the company's day-to day-operations;
    • Oversee and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure that budget targets are met and that revenue flows are maximized;
    • Manage the risk arising from frauds to ensure that they are eliminated by proactively examining the process environment in which the company operates and providing strategic guidance on future operations;
    • Plan and direct cash Operations and ensure branches are served, and the risk of keeping idle cash is minimized.

     Minimum Experience and Qualifications

    Master's Degree either in Finance, Banking, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Marketing, Sales, business management, or Strategic Leadership, or an MBA from a reputable University;

    • Bachelor’s Degree either in Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related field;
    • A Minimum of 10 years of working experience in the microfinance or banking sector, five (05) years of which should be in a managerial position and/or a senior sales position.

     Skills, Capabilities and Personal Attributes

     A solid track record in constantly attaining or exceeding financial expectations;

    • Solid sales acumen;
    • A powerful networking capacity with an existing developed value-adding portfolio;
    • Demonstrable experience in leadership and strategic management;
    • Ability to handle numerous diverse projects to tight timescales in a rapidly changing environment;
    • Sound knowledge of IT management systems;
    • Broad knowledge and understanding of the microfinance industry;
    • Must be familiar with microfinance laws, regulations, and management best practices;
    • Excellent people leadership and management skills;
    • Self-driven and results-oriented, ability to work conscientiously independently, efficiently, and effectively; Good interpersonal and communications skills;
    • Bilingual in English & French;
    • Willingness to live and practice the core values of the company;
    • Knowledge of financial accounting, microfinance operations and risk management practices;
    • High level of integrity and honesty;
    • Awareness and investigative behaviour of the company’s operations;
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Age: 35 to 45 years.
